lf this be so, the space required for the adhesive stamp
would of course be materially reduced from that allotted for
it when a stamp of the size of the existing Hong Kong revenue
stamps was proposed.

We enclose, as re-
Correspondence returned herewith.
quested, a design C of a single-dated embossing die, kept as
small as possible, and also a design D showing the arrange-
ment of the plugs. The only objection to this plug is that it
will be somewhat unsightly, for the one side would be nearly
vertical whereas the other side would be bevelled, somewhat
as indicated in the sketch at side.
Our price for the single embossing die, under table 39
of the Schedule would be £8.10 and the small plugs / each.
The dies, whether single dated or double dated would be
made with the same size shanks as the dies at present in use
and therefore the existing machinery would be available.
